You could hang or place the little bags around the mantle or simply pile them in a pretty basket, and even adorn them with numbers from 1 to 25. Oh my goodness, I just got the warmest feeling in my heart thinking about my little guy opening up these bags...and he will be the perfect age next Christmas to appreciate it! Thank you so much for posting this!
Love love love this! The little bags are so sweet and it would be so exciting for him to open them every evening. I wonder what the numbers are made of? Iron-on transfer? Felt? On my to-do list for next year for sure!

We tried something similar for our three children this year. Instead of placing ornaments inside the packages, I asked family members to write "love" notes to the children. The notes focus on different things from Christmas memories to special memories about each child. They love to discover who wrote the note for the day. I also put a small piece of chocolate inside as my eldest, who is four, insisted that all advent calendars must contain chocolate!
My family has been doing something like that my whole life, only the ornaments were in a giant stocking with 25 pockets on the front. And then there was a cloth tree with buttons sewn on that we hung the ornaments on. That was one of my most favorite of our traditions. Lucky for me, when my mom got rid of it because we all grew up, I got it. Score! My kids love it as much as I do.
